Our Own Backyard!

Around 4am CDT on the morning of November 11th, 2025, an enormous solar flare erupted from our Sun. With a rating of X5.15, this was the biggest and most intense flare recorded this year!

Effects from CME's (coronal mass ejections, fancy science words for" solar flares") are dependent upon the intensity of the ejection. In this case, we have already experienced some radio blackouts in some parts of the globe. People who are more tuned in to energetic changes and disruptions may feel sudden shifts in emotion, body aches, chest pain, ringing in the ears, etc. One of the most noted effects of this flare have been outside of our human bodies; the intense geomagnetic storms that have followed. Strong geomagnetic storms are what give us an enhanced Aurora Borealis, AKA NORTHERN LIGHTS!

The really amazing part was that this storm was SO strong, we were able to see the lights WITH JUST OUR EYES! That isn't common where we live, so it was a beautiful sight to behold!

Beauty is everywhere, all around us, in every little thing. The only difference is how we choose to view it.

Our Compass Points To...

Where The Heart Is

While we love to travel, even in the slow season life gets very busy. We have a long list of trips we'd like to take, but trying to prioritize one over another is proving difficult. With Christmas coming quickly and winter weather looming, it seems our compass is currently pointing us in one clear direction: home.

We are open to suggestions for adventures to take in the future! Reach out and let us know where you'd like to see us go. Remember, our goal is to share the Wild Sights!

Who Is Jeffrey?

Jeffrey is our adventurous pet rock!

Our family has wanted a pet of some kind, but before we committed to an animal we wanted to find something to test our responsibility. We went to one of our favorite beaches and found the perfect pet rock! He looks a bit like a potato, and we think it makes him that much more lovable. He fits right in, loving travel, exploration, and learning as much as we do. At least, we think he does... rocks rarely protest on their own behalf!

He doesn't take his position in our family for granite!
